Free access to knowledge was a cornerstone of democracy for Thomas Jefferson. Even though the history of libraries is much older, it seems necessary in these times to remind ourselves of their role.
"Libraries" is a private and non-commercial project to document libraries in their current state. Most photographs include people to show the library in use rather than just their often impressive architecture.
These are some selected works to share the beauty of libraries with the world.
